I have been finding the device easy to set-up and use, however, I would like to know how accurate the values are on the device. I know that with some equipment these can serve as approximate numbers.
Thanks.
For advice on making the most of your Dino-Lite digital USB microscope. Covering everything from magnification, to cleaning and maintenance, to the best apps and software integration.

Hi Roberta, so glad to hear that you've found your Dino-Lite to be super user-friendly. There are a couple of factors at play for accuracy - including magnification, screen resolution, and proper calibration.
To dive in a bit deeper, Dino-Lites are designed as an affordable tool that offers you a broad range of features for all sorts of applications. However, when calibrated properly, accuracy results can often match precision measuring equipment!
Calibration is key. For the most accurate measurement results, you'll find a calibration target included with your model. Be sure to use the calibration feature in the software that comes with your Dino-Lite, together with the calibration target before performing measurements.
Also keep magnification in mind. Since Dino-Lites provide variable magnification, accuracy will differ depending on the magnification you're using. For example, if you're using a standard magnification model at 220x with a screen resolution of 1920x1080, you can expect an accuracy of 0.001mm! However, if you're using a high magnification model at 930x with the same screen resolution, you can expect an accuracy of 0.3um.
I hope this helps!
