Industrial Inspection Microscopes and Supplies
The precision of industrial inspection microscopes is indispensable for PCB inspection, failure analysis, defect detection, and measurement verification. Find the best mix of features below and invest in an instrument that brings value to your workplace and almost immediately pays for itself in increased productivity.
The right magnification
Between 3.5X and 45X is common for 99% of industrial inspection applications.
Illumination
The onboard LED lighting is often sufficient in industrial settings. Accessory lights are available if you work more commonly at the higher end of the magnification range.
Output to a monitor?
Some models output the magnified view to a built-in monitor. The ergonomic improvements to your workspace can make your days a lot easier.
Shipping's on us!
Orders over $150 get free shipping anywhere in the continental United States. If you're not quite at the minimum order, pay for another accessory, not shipping.
Volume pricing is now available.
Educational institutions and businesses serving other businesses qualify for volume pricing. Ordering more than a couple units? Request a quote here for the best pricing available.

What are you doing with your industrial inspection microscope?
PCB inspection?
Failure analysis?
Visual inspection of parts?
Measurement verification?
Defect detection?
Circuit board inspection?
The best value for your business comes from finding the right marriage of features in an instrument at the perfect price point.
So where do you start?
Any inspection microscope is going to be a stereo microscope
Why a stereo microscope? Because it has the right kind of magnification for your work. There's no need to zoom to 1000X like a compound microscope can. An optical inspection at that level won't yield any useful information for you. An inverted microscope is useful for biological samples, and a fluorescence microscope is useful for the observation of cells in tissue. Not quite what you're interested in.
No, your industrial inspection system should only bring you closer to what you want to see. Not practically inside.
Most inspection microscopes sold today include image capture abilities and software for cataloging inspection findings and important posterity data. A digital microscope includes a camera that can be attached to a monocular, binocular, or trinocular head and allows observation of your sample in real-time on your computer screen, and with a large field of view.
For workrooms dealing with wafer production, integrated circuit fabrication, IC testing and assembly, semiconductor inspection microscopes are the way to go. These semiconductor microscopes not only permit reliable wafer surface inspection but also ensure conformity to semiconductor manufacturing industry standards with no secondary adapter needed for brightfield or polarized observation.
Does working distance matter?
Working distance is the space between the objective lens and the specimen under your inspection microscope. It definitely matters.
Inspection microscopes need more working distance than a typical upright microscope because the things you're looking at are sometimes big, and sometimes require tools.
Using the microscope's zoom, you can get a good image from several inches away.
Plus, an independent light source (like gooseneck LED illumination for example) closer to your subject means you can still get a high resolution look at the circuit board or whatever your specimen might be.
Industrial Inspection stereo microscopes are categorized by type of stand:
How do you get greater working distance in your equipment? A stand!
Boom Stand Microscopes include single arm, dual arm, and articulating arm stands with heavy-duty bases averaging 55lbs.
Pedestal Stand Microscopes are classic desktop stereo microscopes with integrated illumination. Both dual power and zoom stereo.
Platform Stand Microscopes are ergonomic pole stands with external illumination.
Boom stand and platform stand stereo microscopes are essentially modular in design. Each model of microscope head can be used with any of the stands. So if you like the optics or eyepiece on one microscope head over another, you can create the working distance you need with a good stand.
